Editorial policy

Home and Ideas aims to make home design choices easier to examine. We use clear wording, distinguish established information from opinion, and correct material errors when they are brought to our attention.

Accuracy and care

We check factual statements against appropriate information available to us and avoid presenting preference as fact. Where advice depends on a room, material, or household circumstance, we state the limits rather than implying one answer fits every home. Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page; we review the point and update text when a correction is warranted.

Independence and disclosure

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to secure a product mention or commercial relationship. Any paid, sponsored, or partner material is clearly labelled where it appears. A partnership does not guarantee favorable coverage, and commercial placement is kept distinct from independent editorial content.

Images and illustrations

Images should help explain a space, object, or idea. Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence; when they are, they are treated as illustrations rather than documentary evidence. Captions or nearby wording clarify their role where needed.

Updates

When an article needs a meaningful factual correction or clarification, we revise it so readers are not left with the earlier error. We do not claim that every page has been independently tested or that a particular outcome is guaranteed.
